Tour the Farm

Getting Here

Haley Farm is as far west as you can get in western Maryland before hitting West Virginia and Pennsylvania. However it is only three hours from the DC metropolitan area and only two hours from Pittsburgh. The farm is conveniently located on Route 219, a few short minutes from Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Golf and Ski Resort, historic Oakland, and five state parks.

Directions from South

Directions from North

From Washington DC Area (3 hour drive)

Take I-70 west to I-68 west. Take I-68 west to exit 14A (sign should read to Oakland and Rt. 219 South). Follow 219 South for 21 miles exactly and make a left onto Haley Farm. About two miles before you get to us, you will see a big billboard advertising Haley Farm. Haley Farm is on Rt. 219 (which is also called Garrett Highway). About a mile before you get to us Rt. 219 becomes a two lane passing lane and as soon as it becomes one lane again, you need to look for Haley Farm on the left hand side. At night you will see a street lamp at the top of our driveway. If you come during the day, pause at the top of our driveway (3000 ft. elevation), and enjoy the scenic panorama spread out before you: the farm, horses, pond, valley, and forest with a glimpse of Deep Creek Lake beyond. Come down the winding driveway and park, and come up the stairs to the entrance.

From the Pittsburgh Area(about 2-1/4hours)

Take I-79 South to I-68 east at Morgantown. Follow I-68 east to Rt. 42 (the first exit once you get into Maryland on I-68) at Friendsville. Follow Rt. 42 for approximately 7 miles (going towards Oakland and Deep Creek Lake) and you will get to a T-junction at Rt. 219. Take a right onto Rt. 219 (going South) and after about 4 1/2 miles you will see a bridge. Continue South on 219 past the bridge for another 5 miles and Haley Farm is on the left (our driveway exits on to Rt. 219). Come down the winding driveway and park, and come up the stairs to the entrance.
